Encouraging the next generation of humanitarian aviators

The Aerial Tribute Project exists to expand access to aviation, recognize service-minded leadership, and encourage pilots to use their skills in ways that strengthen communities.

What We Believe

The greatest advances in aviation came from everyday people who chose to do something for a cause bigger than themselves. We believe the same spirit still matters today. When people pursue aviation with selflessness, discipline, and purpose, they are more likely to reach their goals and help reshape how the public views general aviation.

Our Story

The Aerial Tribute Project was born out of a simple but powerful belief: access to aviation and the skies should not be limited to privilege. Our team is made up of volunteers, pilots, veterans, and advocates who saw a gap in the industry and decided to do something about it.

Since our founding, we have worked with local communities, partnered with responsible flight schools, and supported aspiring pilots who reflect service, grit, and professionalism. Through scholarships, community engagement, and a mission-focused view of aviation, we hope to inspire new pilots to carry that spirit of service throughout their entire flying journey.

How We Aim to Help

Expand Access Support aspiring aviators through scholarship opportunities and practical pathways into flight.
Promote Service Recruit volunteer pilots and coordinate opportunities to change people's lives.
Share the Story Broaden awareness of the impact that volunteer pilot organizations and airports provide their communities.

Meet Our Team

Our leadership team brings together military service, operational experience, and a shared belief that aviation can be used to make a lasting difference.

Travis Bell

Travis Bell

President

Travis provided disaster response after visiting Haiti in 2012 and 2014. That experience motivated him to pursue 10 years in the Air Force and Air National Guard, where he specialized in technology, logistics, and security. After earning his pilot license, Travis founded The Aerial Tribute Project to encourage new pilots to continue using their certificate to help others.
